Henry Johnson Charter School

Henry Johnson Charter School (HJCS) is a tuition-free public charter elementary school located at 30 Watervliet Avenue, Albany, NY 12206. Established in 2007, HJCS serves students in grades K–4 from Albany and surrounding districts.

HJCS is committed to ensuring that all scholars achieve the highest levels of scholastic success while developing strong character and moral virtues. The school’s mission emphasizes instilling “habits of mind” such as diligence, courage, respect, self-reliance, duty, and responsibility.
